The Lucas Lovejoy cross country program is in the midst of it's most successful stint. It has enjoyed a lot of success over the years and is one of the few programs in the state of Texas to have captured UIL Cross Country State Championships on both the girls and boys sides.

Last season, both teams ended the season on the awards podium at the state meet with the girls winning the UIL 5A title and the boy finishing in third place overall. That level of success is what has the program brewing with optimism of winning two titles this season. The girls are currently ranked No. 1 in the most recent Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas (CCCAT) poll and the boys sit at the No. 2 position.

Coach Pitzel connected with head coaches Carly Littlefield and Logan Kelly as well as with athletes Sara Morefield, Peyton BensonWilliam Carlson, and Nick Yarad

They covered a variety of topics as well as their upcoming Lovejoy XC Fall Festival.
