The girls race at Foot Locker Nationals is a little more wide open than the boys race, but there are still a handful of girls at the top who will be difficult to beat.  The top 3 returners from last year have all had great seasons and have proven they can race well under the pressure at Balboa Park. 

Last year Wesley Frazier made it to San Diego; this year, several NC girls will try to make that prestigious race.

4A Boys     Photos of UIL State Track Championships   Angel Banda and Will Antkowiak really took the race out coming through the first 1600m at 4:31 with defending champion Nathan Christianson coming through in 3rd place in 4:36.  Angel really made the race as he kept pushing the pace. Angel's best coming in was 9:36. Nathan Christianson made a move at 600 to go taking over 2nd place and right on the heels of Antowiak. Antkowiak really pushed hard with 400 to go and running a 61. His time of 9:07.66 is a new 4A state record beating Logan Sherman's 9:08.14 set in 2004. Angel held on for 2nd running a 19 second personal best in 9:17.13.
