Only an inch separates nation's best in boys shot and girls javelin Apr 01, 2009

Saenz, the Nike Indoor Nationals champion (Baillio was 2nd at NIN) and US indoor leader in the event, had thrown for a then US #1 mark on Friday at the Brownsville Meet of Champions. It should be a great throws competition when Baillio and Saenz meet for the first time this outdoor season. Miller's performance was closely followed this weekend by Ashley Aldredge from Cedar Creek of Louisiana with Aldredge's throw of 143'1" at the LSU Relays. It is an interesting blend of states which are represented among the top ranked in the event with Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and Oregon boasting the top three female javel throwers in the nation currently. Lauren Chambers, the Nike Indoor Nationals champion in the weight throw and current US outdoor leader in the hammer throw, was recently featured in an interview article on GATFXC.com, a MileSplit US affiliate site.
