Salute To Seniors: Caleb Beacham - Tomball

What was your most memorable race?

The state race senior year, I had never been to state before, and just the whole atmosphere of competing in one of the fastest states with the best was just really overwhelming.

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

Starting my sophomore year I was racing the best in the nation from Kyle Thompson to Hector Hernandez it was all pretty neat to go head to head with some big named guys! I'd have to say racing hector my junior year at regionals was pretty intense though, Dudes a beast!

What was your greatest accomplishment?

Definitely coming from behind in regionals this year to qualify for state! I had one of the best kicks I've ever had and really surprised myself!

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

I would have taken it alot more seriously in my early years and really got going year round!

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

Getting hurt in cross country junior year was pretty tough mentally, but I was able to come back for track season and have a breakthrough year

What will you miss the most?

I'm really gonna miss wearing that tomball jersey and the countless hours of work on the trails or on the track! After 4 years it's hard to say goodbye to high school sports but I'm glad to be moving on to bigger things!

What advice you would give to younger athletes?

Take whatever sport you're playing seriously if you want to do it at the next level! Don't just have that dream and do nothing with it! Go make it happen!

What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

My coaches were nothing but supportive, they always told me I was gonna be as good as I wanted to be and never let me get down when I had a bad race or bad practice and that really kept me going!

What are your college plans?

Next fall I'll be competing in the NCAA for the University of Houston Cougars!

Who would you like to say thank you to?

My coaches and family and everyone at Tomball, the school was very supportive and kept me wanting to make em proud!

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Watch out for the Houston Cougars this year! We're gonna make some big noise!! GO COOGS!
