Richie Mercado isn't promising a championship, but the St. John's boys cross country coach is confident the Mavericks can regain their place among the Southwest Preparatory Conference's elite.
"We're young and not very experienced, but we've got talent," said Mercado, whose team placed eighth in the SPC in 2005. "I don't think we've reached our potential yet."
