8. Girls Cross Country- Annie Dunlap runs 10:59 at State Meet
Annie was the clear favorite coming into the 2A Meet dominating at most of her meets she competed in during the 2013 cross country season. Could she beat the 2A 2 Mile meet record of 11:18? She took control of the race early and continued to pull away. Her 10:59 not only breaks the record but also broke the magical 11 mark. Only 16 other girls has ever ran that fast on the course since the meet has been at Old Settlers Park. All of those other girls were 5A and 4A. It was Dunlap’s second straight cross country state championship and fifth state gold medal overall, including track.
