 Sophmore Sensation Carter Blunt (Frisco Heritage) used a blistering kick from 600m out to pull away from a tight crowd that had as many as 11 guys in contention with 800m to go. Carter is now the boy to beat in 4A after great performamces at the Texas Distance Fesitival and Jesuit Sheaner races.

Keandre Bates continued his dominance in the triple jump. The University of Floriday signee  Bates finished ninth in the world in the triple jump last summer at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Donetks, Ukraine, and also earned a bronze in the triple jump at the Class 4A UIL track and field state championships last May in Austin.
