US #16 ranked Devin Clark of Smithson Valley Invitational won the New Braunfels Invitational on Saturday in an amazing time of 10:33 on the two mile course without any competition. The next closest finisher was 40 seconds later in teammate Marissa Ibarra with a runner-up time of 11:13. The Smithson Valley girls with the top 2 individuals in the meet, ran away with the team title with a top comprising of 10:33, 11:13, 11:45, 11:45, and 12:09 for times and total tally of 32 points.
Round Rock's Caleb Hollifield edged out Jarred Elizonda (2nd, 9:52) of Bandera for the top time in the varsity boys race with a 9:51 performance. Holmes High School (70 pts) won the team title for boys by a narrow margin of 3 points over Smithson Valley (73 pts) as they put 5 guys under 11 minutes on the New Braunfels High School two mile course.
