All of your meet recaps from the 2015 season in one place!</p>
Texas Outdoor has already gotten underway in Fort Worth. The Pharr Winter Relays has already set a high standard for Texas track. There were multiple US #1 performances, but that is with only a small portion of the country having started Outdoor Track.
Brendon Rivera had a solid season opener by clearing 6'4" in the High Jump. The athlete led his team from Edinburg Vela to some quality performances this weekend.
The Edinburg Velaboys distance team is on a roll with their 18:36 4x1600m improving their mark from 2014 by over minute, having 4 guys averaging between 4:30-4:40. Also beating their 4x800m time from last season already in 8:14.10, which is a very good mark this early in the year.
Senior Vince Castillo easily took the 1st wins of his season. He's the defending 300H State Champ and 3rd in the 110H hurdles at 2014 states. He was able to just cruise in his season opener as his season will be focused on long term goals and not worrying about current times.
Brownsville Riverasenior Angel Espinosa is no stranger to big throws in the disc. He can be happy with a win in his first meet of the season, but with a PR over 170', he'll be throwing well over 157'06" before too long.
One of the many exciting parts of the beginning of a running season is watching new comers emerge. Gaby Garza opened her HS career for Brownsville St. Joseph with wins in the 100H & 300H. The freshman posted winning times of 14.96 and 46.59 in those events.
There were some other notable performances on the girls side with Britnay Vielma throwing a PR by almost 3' to win the shot put! Showing she's ready to start throwing over 40' and mix it up with the state's top throwers this season.
