Salute To Seniors: Amberlyn Waller

Amberlyn Waller - Jersey Village

1. What was your greatest accomplishment?

My greatest accomplishment was making to state in the 400 meters. It has been a 19 years since a member of Jersey Village Track girls has been to State, so I proud to break that barrier down and hopefully pave the way for the Underclassmen.

2. If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

I would start running earlier maybe in junior high school. I ran maybe 3 races in 8th grade and didn't really start running again til my sopohmore year.

3. What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

I was my most difficult obstacle, my high school coach (Day) always told me I was a 400 meter runner but I wanted to run the 100 and 200 my sophomore and junior year. I would only run in the 4x400 meter relay. I never saw myself running the open 400 meter. I wasn't until the Seven Lakes meet that I decided that I would really focus on it.

4. What will you miss the most?

I will miss running and competing with my bestfriend Teylor Jones, she's the person who convince me to run track.

5. What are your college plans?

I accepted a schlorship to South Plains College
