Happy Thanksgiving! Four Unforgettable Moments

The 2015 Fort Bend Marshall team wont be forgotten for a long time. They entered the season as one of the most motivated groups of individuals I've seen. Driven by runner up finishes at the state meet, there was no success for this team without coming away from Austin with a first place trophy. This 5A school had arguably the strongest group of senior sprinters and hurdlers in the state and possibly the country. There was a lot riding on the shoulders of this family of young men from Houston. It's a once in a life time opportunity to assemble a group of talented athletes like the 2015 Marshall Buffs.

They weren't without their fair share of close calls. Kendall Sheffield fought injuries all season to be healthy for his team at state. You could feel the tension in the air at Rice University when Gerald Mills pulled up, grabbing his hamstring at the Victor Lopez Classic. None of that mattered when the Buffs returned to Austin in May. The execution at the state meet was flawless. Not only coming away with the state title and enough hardware to fill the entire bus, but the highest point total in UIL State history. The emotions that came out that night after this group of hard working athletes and coaches accomplished their goal and reached levels we may not see again...is something I will not forget.
