Texas NXN Recap: Endsley, Gray, and Brown Earn All-American Honors!

With temperatures around 45 degrees and rain in the air, the conditions in Portland were no stranger to the Texas teams. They had already experienced it all after having run both the muddy State meet and NXN South meet. In the girls race the leaders established themselves from the gun pulling away early. The group was led by Colorado's Katie Rainsberger. The senior came to win and thats exactly what she did, in a new course record time of 16:56. The highest Texas finisher was Ashton Endsley who finished 6th running 17:19. The second Texas runner was Abby Gray who finished 21st running 17:33. Both ladies earned All-American honors. Madie Boreman (27th) and Anna Elkin (36th) rounded out the Texas individuals.

In the team race both Southlake and Kingwood established themselves in the pack early. The teams went through the mile in 10th and 12th place respectively. By the two mile mark they had both dropped back slightly to 14th and 20th. Southlake ended up finishing the race in 15th, and Kingwood in 22nd. The team from Fayetteville-Manlius (NY) pulled out their 9th team victory scoring only 55 points. Senior Kayli Jones led the Southlake squad running 18:43 to finish 92nd while senior Abby Guidry led the Kingwood girls running 18:46 to finish 94th.
