Written Monday Minute
This was region weekend s where to start…? So many big things that re-wrote national leaderboards. With almost all the regions reporting wind data, Texas proved why it's the best track state in the country!

In the 100's Jace Comick ran 10.42 for U.S. #4 out of Region 2-6A. Up in Dallas Danyel White dropped U.S. #2 23.29 to win the 200m followed by freshman Taryn Hankins from Marcus who ran U.S. #9 23.71…. That's right a freshmen. In the sprints at Region 3-5A Champion Allison ran U.S. #9 in the 400m, & Shamon Ehiemua dropped a 20.64 in the 200m prelims!

Bryce Hoppel and Aaliyah Miller continued to dominate the 800m. Hoppel dropped a U.S.#5 1:50.89 while Miller ran U.S.#7 2:09.76 both are undefeated in the event this year. Reed Brown Dropped a solo 4:07.17 in the 1600m for U.S.#2.

The Texas relay squad showed depth and talent as well. DeSoto girls ran 45.10 in the 4x1 prelims, then dropped a 1:34.98 for U.S. #7 ALL-TIME in the 4x2. There were some fast 4x4's as well Hightower and Cypress springs girls ran U.S. numbers one and three to go 1-2 at Region 3-6A. The Boys 4x4 there was also fast with Dawson and Katy Tompkins both running 3:13 for U.S. 8 and 9. Out of all the 4x400m relays, none can top Region 1-6A, 6 teams all ran 3:16 or faster with all 8 3:21 or faster! Lastly don't have video from Region 3-5A but The Fort Bend Marshall Boys went beast mode in the relays running U.S. #1 in the 4x1 and 4x2, and U.S. #18 in the 4x400m.

That's some of the biggest action this week. I can't wait for the state meet, it's now only 10 days away! Stay locked on TX MileSplit for all the state meet information, previews and details over the next two weeks!
