Aaliyah Miller, Qualifies For World Junior Team And Hits Olympic Trials Standard

Aaliyah Miller exceeded her expectations Saturday night when she ran 2:02.96 to place 2nd at the USATF Junior National Outdoor T&F Championships. Her time is also just off the top 10 all time list (14th). "I didn't even think I was going to hit the time honestly, I just thought like... just to qualify to get top two and with whatever time I get, and if its fast I'll be pretty proud of it," Miller said.

The time earns her a spot on the World Junior Team and hits the Olympic Trials qualifying time (2:03.00). Her time is also just off the top 10 All-Time list (14th). Sammy Watson from Rush Henrietta New York also hit the standard, winning the race in 2:02.91 (13th All-Time). For Miller, it was an amazing feeling. "I mean I knew my training was there but just to finally hit it (and) for everything to come together, it's just such a good feeling and I'm so proud of myself...it's just such a good feeling," Miller Said.
