Kennedy Asks & Milan Answers

Kennedy - You have been known in the track world for a few years now because of your speed, so what is it like knowing you are among one of the fastest girls in the state?

Milan - You know, I try to focus on just getting better, track is a sport that requires a lot of hard work and training. Just to be able to compete with the fastest girls makes me feel great, I just love competition.

Kennedy -  How do you train for the hurdles? With team/ trainer/ on your own?
Milan -

I train with workout variations including drills and training suggestions for different weeks, as my coach

(Collet) sets it. I train with my coach, my teammates, as well as by myself. I find that there is a need for

all, because it gives me an opportunity to learn even more about hurdling and a track athlete in general; far most it allows me to see the importance of being a great teammate.

Kennedy -  Your dad was obviously an amazing athlete at University of Houston, what was it like growing up with him as a mentor?
Milan -

Growing up with my dad has made me a better athlete, as well as a better person. As a mentor, I have

learned so much. He encourages me daily and what he has instilled in me from a little girl has definitely paid off. My work ethic and dedication are attributed (credited) to him.

Kennedy - what is your least favorite part about track?
Milan -

My least favorite part about track, is that the season ends too fast. It seems like there are more games in other sports, like basketball, football, volley ball, etc.

Kennedy - what would you say your biggest obstacle is in your track life?
Milan -

My biggest obstacle is me. Sometimes, I think that I am too hard on myself, but at the same time it is good because it is only a desire to get better. My expectations for myself are very high.

Kennedy - Beyoncé or Rihanna? (This is so important) Back up your claim with evidence!
Milan -

BeyoncĂ©!  First, becausue she is from Houston I am somewhat familiar with her upbringing. I know that she is passionate about work,

she is original, and most importantly her success came from hard work. I'm not saying anything against Rihanna, but I just do not know enough about her.
