#10 is the Elite Girls 100m final
The girls 100m final was filled with fast girls. Katia Seymour came from Florida to battle the best in the Southwest. Of course, that usually means there will be some of Texas' best and there was. Sha'Carri Richardson, Kaylor Harris, and Milan Young were there waiting on her. Last year, Richardson was only a sophomore and Harris and Young were just juniors.
Seymour took the victory but the three Texans were right there taking next three spots. This season, those three ladies had a heck of 2017 state meet. Richardson won the 4A girls 100m and 200m open races. Richardson also took home some records individually as well as with her Dallas Carter teammates. Harris also had a record setting day racking up victories in the 6A 100H and the 4x100 with her Mesquite Horn teammates. Harris also took home a second place in the 100m. Young, had quite a day of her own. She took second in the 100h behind Harris and blazed the track to a 6A state record in the 300H.
The Great Southwest Classic is next weekend and we're super excited because you can catch all the action LIVE on MileSplit. Some of the best athletes in the south will be heading to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 1-3, 2017, to prove who's the best in the south.
