The Region III-6A meet will be held on Monday at Kate Barr-Ross Park.
Individuals
In this region, we could see a freshman win the girls race. Cinco Ranch freshman Heidi Nielson has the top time on the season and she should run away with the individual race. Nielson comes in with a 17:46 PR and a district 19-6A championship.
On the boys side, things should be a little more crowded at the finish line. Sophomores Ryan Schoppe and Nick Majerus have PRs that are a second a part. These two should definitely battle for the regional crown. They could also have company at the front with another sophomore in Erick Lara as well as senior Daniel Figueroa.
Teams
The girls team race could be a pretty exciting race to watch unfold. Katy Tompkins has aspirations for an awards stand finish at state and will be looking for their first regional title. Tompkins is led by senior Alyssa Balandran and a group of talented freshmen. This week they ran themselves to a Flo50 # 11 ranking. The challenge will be from Kingwood, Katy, and Cinco Ranch.
On the boys side, Katy Tompkins is looking to make it a sweep and get both the boys and girls teams to state. Kingwood qualified both of their teams to state last year and they'll be trying to do that once again.
