Elizabeth Reneau Shoots For Her Fourth TAPPS State Title

Winning four straight individual titles is hard to do. So far, Elizabeth Reneau has made it look very simple. Tomorrow, will be her chance to make it a high school career sweep.

As a freshman, Reneau came in an captured a state title taking everybody by surprise. After that performance, everybody knew about her capabilities. She continued to win TAPPS cross country titles as well as track state titles. Reneau has demonstrated her range on the track by running fast and winning state in each event from the 800m up to the 3200m.

Reneau has gone on to cross state to compete in several states against some of the best distance runners in America. In cross country, she has competed at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Arkansas, OSU Cowboy Jamboree in Oklahoma, and the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic in California. Last year, Reneau also qualified for the Nike Cross Nationals cross country meet in Oregon.

Currently, Reneau is not only one of the top distance runners in TAPPS, but she is also one of Texas' and the country's best. Renueau will look to hit her championship streak beginning tomorrow at the TAPPS state meet. From there, the post season meets begin. Reneau will have a good shot at qualifying for both NXN (again) and the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships if she chooses.

Reneau, who just committed to run at Duke University beginning next fall will start things off by going for her fourth consecutive TAPPS individual state championship tomorrow.
