Girls 5A-6A Team of The Year:

This season, Canyon Randall lost a close race to Frisco Liberty at the UIL 5A state meet. The Lady Raiders came up short by a mere four points as they earned second place. In the public vote for team of the year, it was another close race for Randall, but they came out on top of this one with 46.03% of the vote to Keller's 43.94% of the vote. That equates to a 2,208 to 2,108 vote count and a 100 vote victory out of 4,797 total votes.

Girls 1A - 4A Team of the Year:

The ladies from Sundown not only won another 2A state cross country title this season, but they also just took down several of the other programs that had outstanding 2017 seasons in the team of the year votes.

This vote had a total of 20,078 votes with Sundown earning 36.27% of those votes equalling to 7,282 total popularity votes, which was just over 100 votes for 4A runner-up River Oaks Castleberry.

Girls Cross Country Teams Of The Year Honors (Private, Parochial, College Prep) Team of the Year:

All season long, it has been Ursuline Academy out of Dallas. The Lady Bears won another TAPPS state title and they appropriately take the popular vote to win Team of the Year.

They were on fire from week one of the season and they keep winning. In the poll, this victory was just as decisive as their other wins on the season as they received 62.89% of the popular vote to secure this win.

Most Improved:

The most improved team of the year goes to San Antonio FEAST. In the poll, they were able to duke it out with some of the top programs in the state. All teams in the poll were very deserving as they all made drastic team improvements and each were able to participate in their state meets as a team.

FEAST is no stranger to success, as they won the Texas Home School Championship this season, but they were able to improve their team average from season to season in a big way. For a team that doesn't compete in the 5K for their championship, they lowered their team 5K team average to 19:06.62. FEAST also cracked the Flo50 cross country rankings top 10.

They won the popularity vote with 46.25% of the vote over Katy Tompkins' 39.34% and 5,248 of the 11,347 total votes.
