Marble Falls Freshman Bailey Goggans Runs US #2 Outdoor 800m

Bailey Goggans interviews with MileSplit at the Texas A&M High School Indoor Inv.

Every year there is a talented freshman that razzle dazzles the track world. Last year, it was London Culbreath and Gracie Morris -- this year, there are several outstanding young and talented runners who are showing they are absolute track and field stars.

This weekend, we saw that Bailey Goggans from Marble Falls is one of those that will razzle dazzle. In fact, she did exactly that.

Goggans ran both the 400m and 800m at the Dripping Springs Relays and she did not waste time to put the state on notice that she is very talented. She ran a 56.14 400m, good enough for a TX #4. She also ran an elite 800m race. Goggans then dropped a 2:11.62 bomb of a 800m race.

With two outstanding runs on the same day, Goggans put in enough work that raises the question of how fast can this young lady go?

Bailey Goggans Athlete Profile

Who knows, but this isn't the first time this year, Goggans has opened up with big time marks for a freshman. In January, at the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic, she ran a 57.54 400m race in the prelims landing her in the finals. She then followed that up in the finals with a 56.99 race.

Opening up with her times from this weekend, Goggans now ranks #4 in Texas for 400m, #2 in the nation for the outdoor 800m, and #9 nationally for both indoors and outdoors in the 800m. Make sure to check in on Marble Falls results weekly to see just how fast this freshman will get.
