Take That For Data - Region 3-6A 800m Will Be A Tight One!

It's getting real!

The 800m times all across the state are heating up, but let's look specifically at Region3-6A

We saw the last two weeks at both the TSU Relays and at the Victor Lopez Classic that the times are dropping and they are dropping fast.

On the girls side, WONDERS OGUEJIOFOR has upped the ante for the rest of the region to follow. Just a sophomore Oguejiofor is looking to qualify for her second straight UIL state meet in the event. However, as it currently stands her grasp on the region is a slight one. Freshman JAIDEN ITSON has been something impressive. She has an impressive 2:14.86 that she can boast and gain confidence heading into the upcoming district meets.

From there, 11 other girls check in with sub 2:20 marks and will all be able to make a move on potential state qualifying positions.

The boys side of things is just totally ridiculous. The region's top ten times have seven in the same district It's possible we won't have an idea who can qualify for state until after that district finals race.

Atascocita senior CHRISTIAN GILMORE will be trying to get back to state following last year's trip. He is on a great path with his regional leading 1:53.27. With almost a full second lead over the next fastest time, things start to get tricky from there. TRAVIS JACOBSTRENT NOLEN, and MYRIQ FREEMAN all check in with 1:54s followed by a barrage of other sub 2:00 times in the region.

See just how competitive the district and regional meet could be come April and May.
