Beware when you have a meet, because Mathis is a possible to show up anywhere to run. She has covered all parts of the state and beyond to compete.
In fact, last year was just the year to do it. She racked up personal bests around the board last year. She kicked things off early in the season with a win in the first cross country meet and didn't look back.
She ended the cross country season up with an 18:08.80 PR and then a 17th place finish at the UIL 6A state meet and a 63rd place finish at NXR South. On the track, she continued her success as she went 5:00.51 and 10:53.86.
Most recently, she tested her fitness at the AAU National Club Championships as she ran the 1500m (4:47.78 - 1st) and the 3000m (10.41.02 - 2nd). She is clearly ready to roll for what's just her junior year.
