SV senior Wilkerson helped lead his team back to the state meet last year and had a very solid 2017 individual cross season.
Wilkerson caught fire in the last couple of weeks of the season as he ran to a second place finish at district 16th at the UIL 6A state meet and then a 17th finish at the tough NXR South meet. His 15:32.50 was his best true 5K effort and puts him in a good position in his region and in the state for a big senior year.
He and his SV teammates will be running for bigger and better team goals this season. They were sixth overall in the championship division at NXR. Can they get on the award stand at state and can they push the envelope for an NXN spot?
