Last year, Storm and his Kingwood teammates had an unusual school year and cross country season. Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area just before their first meet and Kingwood was one of the most affected schools in the state.
The storm had big time damage to the community as many of the neighborhoods had been damaged due to flooding. The school building had so much damage it had to be shut down and the students had classes and extracurricular activities at another school in the district.
That didn't stop Storm and his Kingwood teammates from making the best of things. Storm eventually got the opportunity to practice and ran himself back into shape and to a 15:27.30 at the UIL 6A state meet for a PR and 13th place finish. He also had big performances on the track with his 4:12.71 and 9:25.08.
If Storm and his Kingwood teammates have a regular season from the start then watch out for the Mustangs!
