Bailey Goggans
We were introduced to Marble Falls sophomore Bailey Goggans last January as the soft spoken runner burst onto the scene running the 400m. By time the season ended, she had wrapped up a UIL 5A state championship in the 800m and then made a trip to New Balance Outdoor Nationals and Brooks PR.
This weekend, Goggans showed that her 800m plans are to run even faster this season. Goggans ran a 2:11.15 at the Carl Lewis Invitational, which was not only good enough for the meet record but a US #3 and an indoor personal best.
With splits of 31.5, 1:04.4, and 1:37.0, she showed the stamina to run just about even as possible by herself. When she gets some speed under her, WATCH OUT!
Her plans are to get an invitation to the New Balance Indoor Nationals and see what she can do there. I'd say things look mighty bright for a good New Balance run.
