Sharyland Pioneer Boys and La Joya-Juarez Lincoln Boys
The Mercedes Knights of Columbus Relays meet was a drag out type of battle between on the boys side between Sharyland Pioneer and La Joya-Juarez Lincoln.
Both teams were placing their guys in just about every event with multiple scorers in many of them. The score keepers must have had a tough time keeping up with the points with the heavy weight battle these two teams put on.
The team battle between these two programs didn't end until the 4x400 relay where the two teams duked it out there as well. The race was a back and forth lead changing type of race and wasn't deciced until the final 100m. Sharyland Pioneer cam away with the victory with a narrow half a second (0.55) win over La Joya-Juarez Lincoln 3:26.65 to 3:27.20.
The only thing remaining to do is to see when and where the next time they will compete. Hopefully, they see each other soon and we can witness another classic match up.
