6A Boys
The 4x100 relay is supposed to be a quick and easy race. It is always quick in Texas, but it is never really easy. In this race, we saw DeSoto race to an early lead and looked to be in control on the third leg before leg cramps attacked and pretty much ended their chase for the win. Then Strake Jesuit had a badk second exchange that eventually disqualified them.
In the end, Mansfield Summit surged to the finish line in 40.42 holding off a furious finish from Klein Forest who ran 40.49 for second place. Following the DQ aftermath, it was Northshore getting third place with a 40.94. Northshore benefitted from a DQ post Region 3-6A just to get into the meet and then another to get on the award stand.
