Matthew Boling Adds 200m Win With 20.31 At Pan Am U20s

Matthew Boling has never competed in let alone won a UIL Texas state title in the 200m. However, that didn't stop him from winning a Pan-American title in the event.

In what has to seem like the longest season in his life, Boling has shown no signs of fatigue. This evening, he dropped a 20.31 for the Pan-American U20 200m win.

In the prelim, earlier in the day, it only took 120m or so for him to figure out he would ease his way to the finals. That is when he started to pull his impersonation of World and Olympic Champion , Michael Johnson and look around to both sides a couple of times to ensure he'd solidify an automatic qualifying position for the finals.

The finals is where he got a challenge on the curve from Arkansas prep sprinter and eventual silver medalist Kennedy LightnerBoling would come off of the curve with a lead and then expound on it once he hit the straighaway.

Later on in the evening, Boling teamed up with his American squad to set a new Pan-American U20 record in the 4x100 relay of 38.62.
