RANKTEAMLAST RESULTCOMMENTS
1
Tulia is the defending 3A girls champ from 2018 who was the first team not named East Bernard to win the 3A girls title in YEARS. They return 6 of their top 7 from last year including their top 5 to cross the line at state. Those 5 runners produced a 32 second 1-5 split and 12:45 average at state.
2
Wall was second last year at the state meet and only 5 seconds behind Tulia for the top spot. Their average was close with a 12:46 at state. They graduated their #3 Bethany Pugh who helped them get their 1:08 split at state. They return 6 of 7 from last year and still have a 1:08 split, which keeps them slightly behind Tulia. Shaylee Shiller was the seventh place finisher last year and should challenge for a title this year and that'll definitely help Wall.
3
Yoakum took home the third place trophy last year and this year looks bright again. Their 27 second split at the state meet will keep them in the hunt. They only graduated #6 from the top 7.
4
Last year, EB took their first L at state in a long time. Well, this year, they are taking the path back to the top. They only graduated one from the top 7 that finished 7th overall as a team including three girls who will be experienced sophomores this year.
5
Bushland returns everyone from last year's fourth place finish. Their top two of Tatum Fish Madi Clendennen are legit and could both place individually.
6
Pilot Point graduated two from last year's squad, but they return leader and All-State runner Brisa Hernandez.
7
Ponder takes the leap from their 12th place finish to starting the preseason 7th. They graduated one, but return some youngsters who now have some experience including Tate Wells who was 12th overall at state.
8
Mineola was 13th at state and check in the preseason rankings at 8th. They were very young last year. With that under their belts now, watch out!
