Canyon is good once again. Can Decatur or anyone else close the gap and shoot for the top spot in 4A?

RANKTEAMLAST RESULTCOMMENTS
1
Coach Baca's group rolled through the state title last year in dominating fashion. They graduate three seniors. That will make them look a little beatable, but when you remember they still have two top 10 individual returners in Breanna Stewart and Gabi Davis, it hardly seems fair.
2
Coach Parks always has something up his sleeve. His Decatur girls graduated senior Hanul Lewis from their runner-up team last year, but he'll plug another in to keep the program flowing. They'll be led by Jentry Lamirand this year.
3
Hereford finished third last year overall. They graduated All-State runner Sabbatha Taylor, but they have some girls to step in and continue their challenge. The hard part if making it out of Regionals with Canyon and Decatur sitting there but everything else should be a breeze other than that.
4
La Feria was 10th last year at state, but the RGV program is back to jump some spots this year and shoot for the awards stand. They return their leader and 4th place individual finisher Dariana Vasquez. Oh yeah, they return EVERYBODY else too! That's why they start off 4th in our rankings.
5
ROC finished 7th overall last year at state. They also return their All-State runner Caitlin Buendia and their entire team also.
6
Who has three girls make it to state but can't get the team there? A team in Region 1-4A, that's who. Argyle advanced three girls to state, but tit was still hard for teams in that region to get out. They're already the fourth ranked team on this list from that region. They were good last year, but they had the four of the best teams in the state in their region. They will have to come out swinging to get to Round Rock in 2019.
7
Andrews will have their work cut out for them if they want to get back to state. They graduated two seniors and that could be a huge difference maker in this year in region 1-4A. They are still one of the top teams in the state and they'll prove it throughout the year.
8
Celina finished 11th last year at the state meet. They only graduated one girl and they return All-Stat runner Adele Clarke.
9
Led by Reagan Maxwell
10
Anna was 13th last year at state. They graduated two seniors but they return leader Caroline Boykin.
11
Huffman Hargrave finished 15th last year. They will be led by Emmy Nolte and Peyton Cook.
12

13

14

15
Sunnyvale finished 9th last year at state. Led by All-State runner Lily Jacobs.
16
Finished 14th last year at state. They graduated two seniors, but they get their All-State leader Emily Garcia back.
17
After four straight state titles, Bandera finished fourth last year. They graduated three seniors, but they have a legend as a head coach and nothing is new to him. They will be led by Morgan Cole.
18
Led by Shalyn Minshew
19
Led by Haley Efurd
