Top 7 Moments From The UIL State Meet

3. Peyton Muntz Wins 3A Girls State Title In First Trip To State

The Whitesboro senior had never made it to the state cross country meet before. From our records, this is only her second season running.

That didn't stop Peyton Muntz from becoming the 2019 3A Girls state champion. She started her first season off last year with a 14:24 2 mile and finished the season with a 13:45.

By the end of the season, she had qualified for the state track meet in the 3200m where she finished sixth with a 11:50.33 PR. Fast forward to this cross country season where she won a couple of races including key races like district, regionals, and now the 3A state meet. Muntz hit the learning curve hard and showed she is a tough competitor. Now she is a state champion.
