This afternoon, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) released an updated statement with an extended suspension period for UIL sanctioned events.

Per the UIL, all contests, rehearsals, practices, and workouts (competitions and practices) are suspended through May 4, 2020.

This extends the previous suspension period that was initially set through March 29, 2020.

It is a fluid situation and the UIL is evolving and considering reasonable options to enable all sports to resume competition. However, they are working within the guidelines of local, state, and the federal government. They will continue to reassess the situation, but until further notice, there will be no UIL sanctioned events and the earliest competition is scheduled with be on May 4th.
