Camaraderie and Dedication

4th of July Saturday morning dedicated central Texas long distance runners arrive at Boat Town, Kingsland at 6:15 am for a long run. (6, 8, 10 or 12 miles were the options) As runners arrive Coach Chris Schrader of Marble Falls HS checks runners', parents', drivers', and photographer's temperature to confirm each is good to go. The cooler is filled with water and sponges. Runners from Pflugerville Weiss, Marble Falls, Leander Glenn, Round Rock, Cedar Ridge, Llano, St. Michael's, and Western Texas JC roll out onto RR 2900 over Lake LBJ, then right onto CR 309. The country morning run was filled with fantastic scenery, fenced herds of goats, jumping over cattle guards, and at times waiting for the cattle to literally cross the road.

After 8 miles, the burn was kicked in for the final 4 miles.
