San Antonio Boys To Watch For This Cross Country Season

Taj Lee - San Antonio Johnson

The San Antonio Johnson boys had a heck of a season in 2019; they won the team Regional Championship and were 10th overall as at the state meet. They only lost their number one runner Victor Zuniga to graduation returning the rest of the top seven for 2020.

That includes returning the incumbent number one runner senior Taj Lee. That shouldn't be a role hard for Lee to assume; he was a low stick number two type runner finishing in the top of most races. He was also a front pack type runner last year in the big invitationals; he also finished just five seconds behind the regional champion.

Lee perhaps even ran at his highest level in the biggest meets of the season finishing sixth at the TAMUCC Islander Splash, second at UIL 6A District 27, fourth at the UIL Region 4 XC Championships, and PRed at the UIL State Cross Country Championships.

Expect Lee to continue to improve and make some noise this cross country season. The track season was good to him before the end seeing him go 2:02.84, 4:27.64, and 9:51.48 PRs in the spring.
