Austin Lake Travis junior Emily Fitzsimmons won the UIL 6A Track and Field State Championships in the pole vault with her 13-9 jump

From the throws, to the jumps, and then in the pole vault, the junior girls field event performers were top notch and even took home some state meet medals.

Lake Travis junior pole vaulter Emily Fitzsimmons was one of them as she grabbed the gold in the pole vault amidst some very good competition. She had to out jump another up and coming junior vaulter Quinn Calhoun from Cypress Woods who was second and had a 13-4 SB. Also in the pole vault, another junior Joy Sherwood from San Antonio Great Hearts Monte Vista won the UIL 3A state title by going over 13 feet with her 13-3 SB.

In the throws, four junior went over 140-0 led by Skylar Bohlman from Lewisville Hebron who finished fourth at the UIL 6A state meet with her 154-11 SB and Alauna Richardson of Frisco Independence who was third at the UIL 5A state meet with her 11-4 SB.
