Bryce Foster Wins Texas Boy's Gatorade POY

Bryce Foster competes in the discus at the 2021 UIL 6A track and field state meet

Bryce Foster, a.k.a "The Mountain" is was announced Texas' Boy's Gatorade Player of the Year for track and field.

Foster joins the likes of Devon Achane, the 2020 Gatorade POY winner and other elite track and field athletes. Like Achane, Foster has signed to compete at Texas A&M University in football and track and field.

Foster was the 2021 UIL 6A shot put champion with his 71-1 toss and was third in the discus by tossing 191-1. The Katy Taylor graduate owns the top throws in the country this past season in both events with his 71-1 and 210-10 top marks.

The two sport star was also named the Texas Track and Field Coaches Association (TTFCA) male athlete of the year for 2021.

The Gatorade Player of the Year award is more than an athletic award; demonstration of exemplary character and academic achievement are also judged.

Foster has been a volunteer mentor to at-risk elementary students and has maintained a 3.87 grade point average.
