After last week's announcement that the Nike Team Nationals would be cancelled for a second consecutive year, a lot of team's dreams of competing for a national championship were shot down.
However, with the emergence of the RunningLane Cross Country Championships and the switching over from just an individual championship format to adding the team aspect, some of those optimistic feelings may be back.
So, who is the No. 1 boys team in Texas?
That is typically a question that stops after mention two teams. The answer usually ends either being Southlake Carroll (SLC) or The Woodlands (TWHS). Within the last five years or so, El Paso Eastwood has been able to consistently etch themselves into the conversation thanks to vying for state championships and qualifying for the Nike Team Nationals.
Those three teams will again be favorited for Texas' best and will compete for the RunningLane title.
