TAPPS 2A Preview
TAPPS 2A Girls
Julianna Davis and Brooke Cerny were first and second last year at the TAPPS 2A girls state meet. Both of Shiner St. Paul's all-state runners are back this season.
However, the rankings have several other girls with season best times. Kate Boone (Temple Holy Trinity Catholic) isn't only leading in the rankings, but her 12:05 is 0.35 faster than Davis' win last year.
Bailey Fannin (Bryan Allen Academy) and Landry Perkin (Weatherford Christian Academy), respectively are ranked second and third based on their top runs this season.

It wouldn't be a surprise if Shiner St. Paul won the state meet, it's kind of expected with their rate of success. It would be more of a shocker if they didn't win the team title. They return four of their five scorers from last year. However, based on this season's times, they are sitting in the third position based on averages with their 14:09.
Temple Holy Trinity Catholic not only has Kate Boone going for them, but their entire team is having a good year. They have the top team average of 13:45 with Bryan Allen Academy in second with their 13:54 team average.
TAPPS 2A Boys
Lubbock All Saints Episcopal junior has yet to win a state title. He came close last year with his cross country runner-up and a couple of third place finishes during track season. This is his opportunity. He is the top returner from last year and he currently leads the TAPPS 2A boys division with his 16:00 SB.
Isaac Cupp (Weatherford Christian) was eighth last year; he is the second ranked runner this season by already running over a minute faster than last year's state meet.

Can Lubbock Southcrest Christian win again? They won by over 30 points last year and they return four of their five scorers, which makes them favorites to win again. Senior Kaleb Gaona should have another top finish to help lead the team again.
