MileSplit TX 2021 TAPPS Boys All-State Teams

TAPPS All-State Second Team

14 Alexander Pena (San Antonio Antonian)

Pena was big for Antonian as they finished second at the TAPPS 6A state meet in the team battle. He ran mid to high 16s all season long and was fifth at the state meet.

13 Nicholas Rodriguez (Victoria St. Joseph)

Rodriguez has turned into a track stud, but he was fourth at the TAPPS 5A state meet.

12 Robert Trevino (San Antonio Central Catholic)

Trevino was one of the leaders at Central Catholic. Throughout the season, he was consistently the teams number two runner, helping to lead to a team state championship. Trevino consistently had top five finishes most of the season and was fourth at the TAPPS 6A state meet.

11 Nicolas Siller (Boerne Geneva)

Siller started the season off well when he ran 10:20 in a 3K at New Braunfels and then a week later ran 15:47 at the FEAST Patriot Inv. The Boerne Geneva senior continued to run well with several sub 16:46 runs, including at state to finish third.

10 Nathan Morales (San Antonio Central Catholic)

Just a junior, Morales was the leader of the 6A team champions Central Catholic. His third place finish was huge to the team performance, but he came up huge all season long. He ran two sub 16 minute races this season and had three other sub 16:30 races.

9 Lee Taylor (Lubbock All Saints Episcopal)

After a runner-up performance at the TAPPS 2A state meet last year, Taylor had one motivation and that was to move up on the award stand. He did that this year by winning the state championship. Although he didn't run fast at the state meet, Taylor had some big wins and two big races specifically at the LCU Chap Invite (16:19) and at the Hoka One/McNeil Inv. (16:00).

8 Kyle Whaley (San Antonio Christian)

The San Antonio Christian junior continued to add to his state meet top 10 finishes by climbing the award stand. Whaley had a season full of top five finishes including the runner-up finish at the TAPPS 6A state.
