Tasty Race Of The Week: Cold 300H With A Hot Ending

The 300 meter hurdles are one of the more challenging races in the sport. The 300 meter hurdles at the Cy Springs Panter Invite were even more challenging than usual.

The temperature was low and the winds were high; the 30 degree temps and 25-30 mph gusts mad a challenging event even harder.

The athletes had to warm up, stretch, and perform drills to be sure their body was prepared and ready to take on the the weather, their competition, and the hurdles.

In the first heat of the girls 300m, you can see some athletes not take the head wind that well and some athletes go hard head first into it. Coming off of the curve is when the middle of the strategies met. Lane four had full control of the race and lane six was in a big deficit with less than 100m to go.

The 300 meter hurdles is a race that will cost a runner if it overlooks the last hurdle or doesn't finish the race through the finish line. It happens more often than not and with the impact of the elements, it is even easier to lose focus and not complete the process.
