Coach T Invitational Boys Elite race

Klein seniors Thomas Kubala and Jerry Mendez took the race pace out on a healthy Saturday morning spin at the Coach T Invitational at the North Lakes Park in Denton.

They led through the first mile getting out and in clear running lanes before the passing lanes got tight. However, the elite group who was chasing wasn't too far off from the two Bearkats as they drafted off the two teammates. 

It was the Fort Worth Diamond Hills-Jarvis junior Angel Sanchez who eventually made his way to the front and ramped things up in the second half of the race. For the second consecutive weekend, he ran under 15 minutes for the 5,000m distance to establish himself as one of the leaders in the state as well as nationally.
