With the Cross Country season in full swing, most of the top teams and individuals have at least a couple races behind them, and it is time to put together a list of the top speed ratings achieved by Texas runners. While most of the top speed ratings have come from only a few of the largest meets, other individual performances show that the field doesn't have to be huge to produce great performances.
Most top runners have already competed at the huge invitationals (Marcus/Coach T, Carroll, Friday Night Lights, FEAST), and raced against similar competition this year, but there are a few outstanding runners who deserve notice for toiling alone, far in front of the packs, and who may be poised to pick up the pace even more when their competition gets stiffer.
