Cross country rankings by times do not always provide the best comparison between runners as course and weather conditions vary so much across the state of Texas. The following list orders the top performances in Texas from last week's races.
With many top runners and teams competing at the Marcus/Coach T and FEAST Invitationals, this list is dominated by runners from these two races. Angel Sanchez and David Mora, along with Shewaye Johnson and Isabel Conde de Frankenberg put down some of the fastest speed ratings in the nation (national list from tullyrunners).
Keep an eye on two top ten runners who may be capable of much faster racing when they get around to facing competition at their level, though: Luis Pastor (El Paso Coronado) and Juanita San Leal (Edinburg North). They have both won each of their races to date by huge margins, and look to be competitive with the best in Texas, maybe in the nation.
