Delayed almost 2 hours with heavy rain and strong lightning, the officials were forced to revise the course from 1.5 miles to 1.25 mile loop. A total of 449 teams registered for the unique 4 person relay running in Elite, Varsity and Jr. Varsity divisions. Southlake Carroll girls came out strong and captured their second consecutive championship in the Elite division. The team of Brittney Alberto, Brooke Upshaw, Miranda Walker and Kirsten Brown finished 1:25 seconds ahead of second place Highland Park. Finishing out the top five were teams from Keller, Lewisville and Coppell.
In the boys Elite division, the Southlake Carroll team of Orey Smith, Mark Summers John Hermes and Kevin Ondrasek took the championship by 45 seconds over second place Coppell. Dallas Jesuit, Strake Jesuit and Marcus rounded out the top five. In the 5A/4A Varsity boys division, The Fossil Ridge team of Michael Oler, Javier Errisariz, Ben Thompson and Kyle Poulsen crossed the line 10 seconds ahead of FW Nolan. McKinney, McKinney North and Grace Prep finished in the top 5. The 5A/4A girls Varsity division saw the Southlake Carroll team of Emily Denny, Christian Ferber, Lauren Dickens and Kristen Buckreis finish 10 seconds ahead of Highland Park for the varsity victory. Ursuline, Keller and Southlake Carroll (second team) rounded out the top 5.
