Bentonville (AR) junior James American Horse and Wolfe City junior Caden Thurman ran excellent races. However, things got interesting in the last 1K and even more so the last 400m.
The Arkansan used his 4:09 1,600m to track Thurman and run stride for stride down the homestretch as the crowd cheered and watched as the two sprinted for the win.
Thurman who has been on fire this fall himself and if you didn't know, there is no back down in this young man as he took a straight up speedster to a dramatic finish.
In the end, there was no better way to finish, two iconic looks; one with red and spiky hair and another with a running cap.
The two harriers continued to run, looked at each other, crossed the line, and then looked at the clock to see who won. What they saw was a .10 second separation in one of the closest cross country races ever.
