Galena Park North Shore has been under the tutelage of Coach Michael Hernandez for 14 years and he's been head coach for the last 10. Under his leadership, the team has reached heights most wouldn't expect it attain. Being one of the best football programs in the nation, Hernandez has proved the school can still do some good distance running.

While North Shore is also well known for its sprinting and jumping programs, most in the Houston area and Region 3-6A know Northshore to be a respectable distance program as well. Hernandez knows the community and school well as he is a graduate from North Shore and returned after college to guide the student-athlete and build a family as well as a program.

Hernandez and his team captains join us to talk about the program as well as some of the challenges of developing and maintaining an urban cross country program
