SAN ANTONIO - The top 200 San Antonio Metro area boys combined in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles has a loaded group at the top.
It is a deep group, but Gary Mejia of Central Catholic and Kyree Wilson of Brennan have separated themselves from the rest of the competition. Mejia owns the top times in both events (13.97 and 38.20) while Wilson is the only other person who has broken 15 seconds in the 110 hurdles and 39 seconds in the 300 hurdles.
The Reagan boys boast the top overall group of hurdlers with four ranked in the top 20. Derek Davisson (#6) and Liam Lecavalier (#6) lead the team, but Albert Bakus (#16) and Shaun Evans (#17) are right behind. Clemens boasts a pair of top 10 hurdles in Paul Mencke (#3) and Jackson Jones (#10) while Smithson Valley and Steele each have a pair in the top 20. Overall, there are 14 boys who have run times under 16 seconds in the 110 hurdles and under 42 seconds in the 300 hurdles.
