Shadow Creek Girls Flex Their Muscles At Texas Relays

In 2022, Shadow Creek finished second overall at the UIL 6A Girls Track and Field State Championships, 28 points behind Flower Mound as they were able to tally 40 total points. This weekend, they showed they are priming and preparing to make a run at the top of the awards podium.

Two things could minimize last year's point disparity. Natalie Cook graduated with her 20 individual points and Shadow Creek ramping things up this season in the relays.

Over the weekend, the Sharks won all three sprint relays (4x100, 4x200, and 4x400). They started off Saturday with a 45.67 SB time in the 4x100, the one relay they didn't score in at the 2022 state meet. The defending state champs in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays were to run nearly as fast or faster Saturday than they did to win their state titles.

With times of 45.67, 1:35.64, and 3:41.08, Shadow Creek leads the state rankings in all three relays. Their focus over the next month will be to stay healthy and forge the individual events to
