Smooth start at the gun for the first 3200 of the day, the girls were tightly packed through the first lap with no one wanting to make a move yet. Addison Hite a junior from Pilot Point your XC State Champ from 2022, had a slight lead with 400m down.

No one made a move through two laps. They were all still tightly packed and Hite hung on to her small lead at the 800 mark.

They started to spread out a little coming up on the 1200 mark but Hite continued to set the pace with Poth's Brooklyn Albert close on her heels and Aubrey Beam a freshman from Whitesboro rounded out the top 3, Jaycee Lyons from Holliday sat comfortably in 4th place.

A pack of 5 separated from the rest at the 1600 mark with Hite coming through at 1:25.57 pace.

A small pack of 4 began to pull away with Hite still in front. Beam, Albert, and Lyons stayed tightly packed and began to distance themselves with 600m to go.

At the bell lap Beam took the lead for a few seconds but Hite quickly took it right back at the turn. The girls turned it up a notch and coming down the home stretch Hite and Lyons were the two that battled it out running neck and neck when Hite made a last push to take the Gold at 11:14.49.

Lyons finished in 2nd 11:14.72 and Albert, a freshman, captured the bronze with a 11:17.85.
