Chase Lehr Repeats And Noah Strohman Wins Second Gold

800 meters:

Wrapping up his high school career as the State 3A back-to-back 800-meter champion, Chase Lehr arrived on a mission. The Breckenridge senior took out at a blistering pace and showed no signs of slowing down. With a 56.26 second first lap.

Despite the quick pace from Lehr, he was challenged closely by Crane's Lucas Rizo down the back stretch. The two nearly went down to the wire as Lehr pulled away in the final 50 meters. Grant Sims from Elysian Fields held off a solid finish from Chris Saling out of Tuscola Jim Ned

1600-meter run:

Despite his youth, Holliday's Noah Strohman remained as calm, cool and collective as any first-timer would be at the state track meet. After winning the 3200 earlier, he cruised for another smooth victory in the mile with a winning time of 4:15.12, including a final lap split of 1:01.34. He stretched out his lead in the final straight away to beat out the challenging senior from Boyd, Riley Nedrow. Nedrow held onto the runner-up spot with a time of 4:17.95. David Soto trailed right behind  Strohman after 400 meters but was unable to stay stride for stride through the final lap. The Winnsboro senior took the bronze medal.
